To mark the 300 years of manufacturing World famous Early's Witney Blankets in 1969 it was decided to manufacture a blanket in a day. During the hours of daylight on Wednesday 11th June 1969 at Witney Mills in Oxfordshire England, the wool fleeces were shorn from the sheep's backs, opened and blended, carded into fibres and then spun into yarns, the yarns were then woven into blanket pieces which were then scoured, dyed a Deep Rose colour, washed and dried and then raised or brushed, the cloth was then cut into 50 Single Blankets and a Deep Rose ribbon sewed on each end and an exclusive Early's Tercentenary Blanket cloth label sewn on. The first blanket was taken by helicopter to Heathrow and flown to New York that same day. The Early's Tercentenary Blanket cloth sewn in label contains all the information about the blanket. Stored in the warehouse for 42 years, we are delighted to be able to offer a very limited number of these historic blankets for sale. The price includes shipping to the USA or Canada
